Founder Story

Mr. Devaraj. B.T is a native from the remote village of Banasamudra from Malavalli taluk in Mandhya district. His parents, Thimme gowda and Manjamma are from the farming community and he was the youngest of the three siblings. Devaraj did his primary education from the School at his village from 1986-1993. After completing his High school education from Basaveshwara School in the neighbouring village of Halasur Devraj came to Bangalore in 1996 with the help of a family friend, Rajanna.

During his stay in Bangalore Devraj worked in various companies in different capacities and alongside he completed his M.A degree. Eventually Devraj began to work as a cab driver and started to stay with his friends at Yeshwanthpur, Mathikere. His friends often conducted several Health camps. Whenever Devraj had day off from work during the weekends he would accompany his friends to the Health camp and participate. While participating in these Health camps Devraj noticed that the children and their parents who came to the camp were not able to afford decent clothing. After discussing with the parents, Devraj understood that due to their financial condition they were unable to cater to the basic necessities of their children like food, clothing and education.

Devraj after discussing with his friends (Ninge gowda, Sunil, Basavaraju, Shivakumar, Nagaraju) decided to start Janaseva Samruddhi Makkala Sevashrama in May 2011 at Mahalakshmipuran, Kurubarahalli, Bangalore along with them. Later in 2014 Janaseva Samruddhi Education Trust (JSSET) was registered. JSSET caters to the basic needs like food, shelter, clothing and education of the children from the under privileged and labour community from across all districts of Karnataka.
